What You Will Learn:
– Recognize signs of addictions and mental illnesses
– Understand the impact of mental and substance use disorders
– Learn a 5-step action plan to assess situations and provide help
– Discover local resources and where to turn for assistance
March is Self-Harm Awareness Month. 
Just as CPR prepares you to help someone having a heart attack, Mental Health First Aid equips you to support individuals facing mental health crises. This course will cover risk factors, warning signs, and effective strategies for assisting both teens and adults in various situations.
With instruction from two nationally certified instructors, this training emphasizes recovery and resilience, reinforcing the belief that individuals facing challenges can improve and thrive. Participants will engage in role-plays, scenarios, and activities that make it easier to apply these skills in real-life situations.
Each participant will receive:
– A FREE Adult Mental Health First Aid Manual
– National Certification
Important Details:
– All participants must complete 20 minutes of pre-course work online before attending the in-person training.
– After the in-person class, an additional 20 minutes of post-course work is required.
– Breaks and a 30-minute lunch period are scheduled during the session.
– Participants must have a valid email address and bring a laptop to the training.
